“What strikes the glass reveals what remains of life.”

L’Intrus combines sculpture and performance.

In the center of a display case lies a glass skull—vanity of vanities—evoking both the fragility of life and its inevitable end.

Suddenly, two individuals appear and strike the glass walls.

The impact on the glass, the shards, and the stones left on the floor attest to the violence of the gesture.

The scene, filmed as if captured by surveillance video, is broadcast on a screen a few meters from the installation.

A connection is then created between the viewer's experience in situ and the recorded image of vandalism.

Through this device, the work questions the place given to finitude in a world that constantly seeks to cover it up, push it away, erase it.

Here, death becomes the intruder—something we neither want to see nor accept—but which insists, returns, cracks, and shows itself.
