« Une barrière de verre pour révéler l’illusion de nos limites. »
Accès - libre is a custom-made glass reproduction of a Vauban barrier—those metal barriers that are everywhere in public spaces, used to channel, contain, and filter crowds.
Transposed into a fragile, transparent, almost immaterial material, this replica introduces a form of irony.
It reveals the ambiguous relationship we have with obstacles: do they protect or prevent? Is it a real barrier or an internal boundary?
By making visible what usually blocks, Accès - libre exposes the emptiness of certain fears and the illusory nature of our obstacles.
The work thus becomes a paradoxical threshold: an obstacle that can be crossed with the gaze, and which refers back to our own mental boundaries.
